Dawn Airey To Leave Sky

Dawn Airey Dawn Airey, Sky’s managing director of channels and services is to leave the company next year to take up a new position as chief executive of Iostar Limited.

In a statement Sky said that Airey, who joined in January 2003, will continue to play a significant role at the company until Spring 2007 and will support the transition to a new management structure.

Following the announcement, Mike Darcey, chief operating officer, assumes responsibility for Sky’s advertising sales, broadband internet portal, joint ventures, channel distribution agreements and commercial relationships with third-party channels.

Vic Wakeling, managing director of Sky Sports, adds responsibility for Sky News to his existing role.

James Murdoch, chief executive, Sky, said: “Dawn has made a significant contribution to Sky’s appeal to millions of customers. She has been a valued colleague and a trusted friend. When the time comes, we will wish her well for the future.”

According to reports in the trade press, former UKTV chief executive Dick Emery has been lined up as the chairman of Iostar.
