Dazn becomes exclusive home for NHL.TV in 200 countries
Sports entertainment platform Dazn will be the exclusive home to the National Hockey League NHL.TV streaming service in nearly 200 countries, starting from the 2025/26 season.
This follows a multi-year agreement that covers live and on-demand coverage of the league. The US, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden are not included in this arrangement.
The rights deal covers every NHL game, subject to some local blackouts on the live feed. Fans can access the content on any device on which Dazn is available, including smart TVs, game consoles and mobile phones.
NHL is migrating NHL.TV to Dazn’s global streaming platform and the service will be available to users as a standalone subscription or add-on package.
Steve McArdle, chief operating officer at NHL, said 30% of the league’s players are born outside North America and engaging international fans is a significant priority.
Shay Segev, Dazn’s CEO, called it a landmark agreement and “a significant step in our mission to deliver the most exciting sports action to fans across the globe”.
In June, Dazn became the home for Fifa+, the digital service from Fifa featuring live matches, archives, original documentaries and more. That partnership launched with live coverage of the entire Fifa Club World Cup this summer.
This month, Dazn and Manchester City announced the creation of a dedicated environment for the Premier League club’s content on the platform. This is part of Dazn’s free content offering and features a non-live slate of behind-the-scenes, interview and press conference material.
