Dentsu International announced Dentsu Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) chief executive Angela Tangas will move to London to become CEO of Denstu UK & Ireland beginning in September.
The role will see Tangas lead the network’s second largest market across its Media, Creative, and CXM brands, with further responsibility for continuing to evolve the UK & Ireland agency.
She replaces Euan Jarvie, who left dentsu in October to become EMEA President of data and analytics company IRI Worldwide.
Tangas originally joined dentsu ANZ as chief commercial officer before her promotion to ANZ CEO in 2019.
She will report to Giulio Malegori, EMEA CEO, and she will be a key member of the EMEA Executive Team.
Malegori said: “The UK&I is one of the largest and most significant advertising markets in the world and, following a period of intense simplification, the business is accelerating its growth potential. In her time at dentsu ANZ, Angela has proven herself to be a transformational leader with a track record of delivering sustainable business growth for dentsu and supporting positive business outcomes for clients”
Dentsu UK&I has undergone transformations in recent years, consolidating 28 brands under three core offerings across Media, Creative, and CXM. Recent financial results have been positive – UK&I saw organic revenue growth of 11.2% in Q1 2022.
Tangas said: “I strongly believe in the power of teaming– bringing brilliant, diverse minds together to solve the problems of today and pre-empt the opportunities of tomorrow for our people, clients, partners and society. The UK market is one of the most innovative in the world with some of the most progressive consumer expectations of brands. The opportunity to lead this team of talented humans partnering with some of the most exciting organisations to unlock a new set of value dynamics, is a very compelling opportunity”.
