DMGT Loses Place On FTSE 100

Daily Mail & General Trust is to lose its place on the FTSE 100, based on market capitalisations at the close of business last night.

The company, whose group businesses include Associated Newspapers and dmg world media, has performed badly all year, seeing its share price drop 20% in that period and failing to sell its Northcliffe regional newspapers division (see DMGT Newspapers Suffer Across The Board). Yesterday its shares fell 201p to an eight month low of 623p.

The latest FTSE Quarterly Review will also see telecoms group Cable & Wireless lose its place on the list, with the changes taking effect from Monday June 19.
