Edge Radio Station To Shut On Friday

Radio Set The Kingdom Radio Group has announced that it will be closing its North Lancashire radio station, 107 The Edge, this Friday.

Formerly known as Clan FM, the talk and music station failed to live up to the high standards of its owner and, after four years on air, will stop broadcasting on 15 July.

Kingdom Radio has made every attempt to redeploy staff from the station within the Group, with their main focus now driving forward Fife’s Kingdom FM and continuing to grow West Lothian’s River FM.

Kingdom Radio bought Clan FM from Cornwall based radio group, UKRD. However, despite its relaunch as The Edge in late 2004, the station failed to draw enough listeners to keep it on air.

The station saw its weekly reach decline heavily in the three months to March, shedding a massive 56.7% year on year to command a total of just 13,000.
