ESI Media hires new director of trade marketing and insight

ESI Media has today announced the appointment of Katie Ingram as director of trade marketing and insight.

In the new role, Ingram will work across the publisher’s brands – including The Independent, the London Evening Standard, indy100 and ES Magazine – driving bespoke insight projects and building partnerships with agencies and clients.

Ingram has 16 years of media experience working in media and joins from Outsmart, where she was strategy and planning director before the OOH marketing body was scaled back last year. She has also worked at Exterion, CBS Outdoor and Turner Broadcasting.

“As our portfolio of brands continues to grow in audience size and influence, alongside growing expertise in custom content and events, it is crucial that we bring our commercial offering to life for partners across all parts of the business,” said Dan Locke, chief agency strategy officer, ESI Media.

“Katie brings exactly the right knowledge to the role to be able to do just that, with experience of both strategic sales and marketing, whilst extending our insight capabilities to ensure we remain at the forefront of audience understanding.”

Ingram added: “This is an exciting time to be joining ESI and I’m really looking forward to working with the growing Independent digital brand and London Powerhouse brand the Evening Standard. It’s a powerful media portfolio and commercial offering, with many exciting opportunities for clients and agencies. I’m going to enjoy reflecting this innovation in our trade marketing and insight strategy.”

Ingram joins immediately, reporting into Locke.
