Mobsta, the UK-based location-powered audience platform, has announced that ex-Unilever media chief David Porter will take on an advisory role with the company as a non-executive director.
Porter recently retired from full-time work. He had previously spent over a decade at Unilever, most recently serving as its vice-president, global media, and had also held positions at WPP media agencies Mindshare and MediaCom over a career that spanned over 45 years in the industry.
Porter also currently works as an advisor at the World Federation of Advertisers, having recently stepped down as their VP, APAC, and, until February, was chair of the Mobile Marketing Association in Asia.
“Mobsta’s ways of working have always resonated with me,” Porter said in a statement. “The company has an exemplary approach to sustainability, which is becoming a hot topic throughout the marketing supply chain: brands expect partners to walk the talk on sustainability and inclusiveness.’
He added: “The team at Mobsta has been quietly getting on with making sure that every campaign in the past six months has been designed to be climate positive. This gives us a great opportunity to grow and to be an industry thought leader, while doing good.”
Mobsta states its knows exactly how many grams of carbon are produced by every digital impression they serve, and are now creating digital media plans with an enhanced set of parameters that can tailor campaigns to reduce carbon and leave a minimal impact on the environment.
