Fetch and MAD//Fest launch start-up competition

Marketing agency Fetch has kicked-off a search for a tech start-up partner after launching a pitch contest with marketing, advertising and disruptive tech festival MAD//Fest.

The competition, Measurably Daring, will take place at MAD//Fest London on 28-29 Nov at The Old Truman Brewery.

At stake is the opportunity to scale up by collaborating with Fetch and its clients. The winner will have the option of locating its business with Fetch at its Shoreditch HQ and receive a package of managerial support, mentoring and training.

Fetch is looking for start-ups who are “prepared to take risks, be audacious and challenge the status quo to produce positive and measurable business success.”

Fetch, whose clients include Facebook, Virgin and The Telegraph, attributes its growth to a ‘measurably daring’ mindset. Launched in 2009, the agency operates globally with offices in the USA, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. In 2014, Fetch became part of the Dentsu Aegis Network.

The judges will be looking for digital and tech start-ups who can drive engagement between brands and consumers. Key areas of interest include video content distribution, engagement, measurement, attribution, entertainment platforms and ad technology.

Following an initial call out, 15 start-ups will be selected to pitch at MAD//Fest. Three heat winners and one wild card will be selected by the judges to participate in the PITCH//IT live final on 29 Nov. [advert position=”left”]

The winner of PITCH//IT will also receive free exhibition space at MAD//Fest London in 2019.

“Digital-driven disruption is accelerating yet ‘innovation’ budgets haven’t kept up with the pace of change,” said Patrick Affleck, UK CEO, Fetch.

“I believe fortune favours the brave. We’re excited about the opportunity to work in partnership with a new generation of entrepreneurs Measurably Daring entrepreneurs who do not shy away from taking calculated risks that rock the status quo.”

Dan Brain, co-founder, MAD//Fest, added: “Measurably Daring is an amazing opportunity for bold start-ups who want to scale quickly by working alongside a progressive agency that backs ingenuity, invention and experimentation.

“It’s also the perfect way for MAD//Fest London attendees to put their finger on the pulse of the latest emerging martech, adtech and disruptive tech here in London and beyond.”

Launched earlier this year with the support of Mediatel, MAD//Fest London is a new invite-only festival that will connect 2,000 marketing, advertising and disruptive technology leaders.

Speakers include broadcaster and author Katie Piper, futurist Shivvy Jervis, Tenzing Founder Huib van Bockel and leaders from Disney, Domino’s, Huawei, Twitter, Google, Monzo, Uber, Samsung, Direct Line, Google, Pernod-Ricard and Diageo.

The event also features ‘The Pub of Things’ where visitors can see brands in a connected environment and try out a range of experiential technologies.
