First Radio Sales Secures Juice 107.2 Account

First Radio Sales has secured the contract to sell airtime for Juice 107.2, the radio station for Brighton and Hove, to national advertisers and their agencies.

The station, owned by Forever Broadcasting, reaches an audience of around 43,000 in the Sussex area each week and commands over 300,000 listening hours. It is aimed at a core market of 25 to 45 year-olds and has a programme format based around guitar based rock and indie music.

Matt Bashford, commercial director of Juice 107.2 FM, said: “We’re delighted to be working with First Radio Sales. We have really worked hard to develop our programming and listening hours over the past year. We think that by working closely with the team at First Radio Sales, we can develop significant revenues from national advertisers.”

The win comes as First Radio Sales celebrates the first successful year of trading for First Radio Regions, a series of advertising packages that enable agencies to buy airtime simultaneously on all station represented by the company within an individual ITV transmission area (see First Radio Unveils Regional Advertising Packages).

Commenting on the achievement, Neil Webster, managing director of First Radio Sales, said: “We developed the packages in collaboration with key national radio buying points and our radio client groups. Since then, we have sold over 100 packages with a value of over £1 million.”

He added: “A whole spectrum of national advertisers including Procter & Gamble, the Independent, Renault and BSkyB use the packages. Agencies can simultaneously and cost effectively buy into successful local commercial stations with just one negotiation and one piece of copy. Agencies receive just one invoice and a PCA by component station.”
