Five Signs Model Sponsorship Deal With Dior

Five has secured a major sponsorship deal with Parfums Christian Dior to support the channel’s major new reality series, Make Me a Supermodel.

The deal will see Dior Backstage Make Up cover the opening and closing credits and break bumpers on a package of eight hour-long programmes and a live final and will run from 14th March to 1st April of this year.

Dior Backstage Make Up also receives accreditation on the extensive promotional on-air trailers as well as online.

Commenting on the deal, Ruth Newton-Jones, managing director of Parfums Christain Dior said: “The combination of glamour and accessibility is exactly what Dior backstage make-up is trying to achieve. We are delighted to be tying up with Five’s Make Me a Supermodel.”

Jamie West, head of sales for Five added: “It’s great news to have Dior, one of the most prestigious beauty brands in the world, on board as a sponsor.”

Make me a Supermodel is fronted by international model and actress Rachel Hunter, and will see her and a panel of industry experts mentor 12 ‘wannabe models’ over the period of three weeks. the winner will win a contract with the Select modeling agency.

Last year saw Five boost its programme budget by a massive £17 million, a move designed to increase the company’s profile and increase overall viewing share. The new reality series marks a return on that investment, after Five’s director of programmes, Dan Chambers, pledged to spend more on reality and live event programmes over the next few months (see Five Boosts Programme Budget By £17 Million).
