Future Publishing To Launch One-Off Digital DJ Magazine

Future Publishing has announced plans to launch a special one-off magazine covering the rapidly expanding world of digital DJ-ing technology.

The 100-page Digital DJ title will appear as a special edition of this month’s Future Music magazine. It will target men aged between 16 and 20 years-old who are either beginners on the turntables or long-time vinyl DJs wanting to start using CDs.

The title will offer a mix of news, an event calendar providing this year’s festival dates, practical advice and tips on playing your first gig. There will also be reviews of the many CD turntables currently on the market and interviews with top DJs.

Commenting on the launch, the magazine’s co-editor, Ian Harris, said: “Digital DJ focuses on a market that has been widely ignored by existing DJ magazines. Most of the magazines around are very much focused on traditional vinyl turntables, but if you’re a first-time DJ you won’t want to invest thousands in equipment that’s only got two or three years left.”

Digital DJ will go on sale tomorrow for eight weeks with a covermounted CD including over 1,000 samples to use in DJ sets. The magazine will be promoted across Future Publishing’s portfolio of music magazine magazines, as well as via dance music and clubbing website, ukClubbing.com.

Earlier this month Future Publishing’s flagship movie magazine Total Film secured a high-profile deal to promote the forthcoming Stella Artois Screen Tour, which will show thirteen cult and classic films in nine cities across the UK including Manchester, Nottingham and Edinburgh.
