GCap Signs Etienne As New Choice MD

Radio giant GCap Media has appointed Ivor Etienne as the new managing director of Choice FM, taking responsibility for the station’s programming and strategic direction.

Etienne will also be charged with increasing Choice’s appeal to listeners. The last wave of RAJAR data showed Choice increasing its weekly reach by 7.4% year on year, totaling 510,000.

Commenting on the appointment, GCap operations director, Steve Orchard, said: “The last two years have shown increased listening figures, with recent RAJAR scores showing more people are tuning into Choice FM and for longer.

“This is an exciting time for Choice and Ivor is an experienced and skilled programmer committed to the development of the station.”

Etienne added: “This is a great opportunity and I’m really looking forward to further developing Choice FM; nationally and in the London marketplace.
