GMG Offers Web Solutions Through New Interactive Division

GMG Radio has set up a dedicated interactive division to sell advertising across the websites of its three leading local radio brands: Real Radio, Jazz FM and the recently launched Smooth FM.

The new commercial operation, led by Jazz FM managing director, Carter Tanner (pictured), will sell both bespoke online campaigns and airtime support advertising across the group’s range of websites.

Interactive sales executive Paul Carter has been recruited to focus purely on the group’s online revenue streams, while Brandon Worthing Davies has been appointed to the position of commercial web developer.

Commenting on the launch, Tanner said: “We have three very strong brands and are now able to provide a very attractive online offering to advertisers who want to target every demographic of the 25 plus audience. We are also able to offer a commercial creative service that ensures clients achieve the results they are looking for.”

The division was set up in response to increasing demand from clients for online solutions to support their existing on-air campaigns. New online advertisers to take advantage of the initiative include Microsoft, Emirates, BMW and British Airways.

The division also claims to be in discussions to launch a number of associated web services that fit the lifestyles of the listeners to its three brands – including a wine club for jazzfm.com and travel clubs for Jazz FM, Real Radio and Smooth FM.

GMG Radio recently promoted Julian Carter to the position of director of sales, following the departure of Jon Hewson. Carter assumed responsibility for developing sales across GMG’s portfolio of five regional stations and numerous digital services (see GMG Radio Appoints Carter Director Of Sales).
