Good Start For BBC Two’s Heroes

Heroes The sci-fi series Heroes landed on terrestrial TV last night, with BBC Two showing the first two episodes back-to-back.

The first episode, on at 9pm, picked up a peak audience of 4.1 million adults (a 20.9% audience share), whilst the second instalment, on at 9.40pm, managed to get a peak of 3.8 million adults (a 19% share).

In the series opener, which had an average of 3.9 million adult viewers, we were confronted by a cheerleader who discovered she could heal herself and a nurse who thought he could fly.

The second part had an average of 3.7 million adults waiting to see what would happen when a beat cop was the only one who could hear the cries of a missing little girl.

Over on ITV1 at 9pm was macabre police drama Wire In The Blood, with Robson Green playing Dr Tony Hill, a clinical psychologist with empathy beyond the established boundaries of science.

The dark tale had a peak of 4.6 million adults (a 23.7% share) and an average of 4.5 million stayed tuned throughout its hour and a half running time.

On BBC Two at 8pm was Top Gear: Polar Special which saw the lads attempt their most arduous challenge to date – a 450 mile race across the Arctic to the Magnetic North Pole.

Clarkson and chums once again proved to be a big draw, with a peak of 4.5 million adults (a 23% share) watching them race around in the snow.
