Group M Generates $4.4 Billion In Net New Billings

Group M has reported that it generated $4.3 billion in net new media billings during last year, according to WPP’s annual report.

Group M’s revenues for its advertising and media investment management operations, including full-service shops like JWT and Ogilvy & Mather, grew 4% on a like-for-like basis during 2006.

The combined operating margin for WPP’s agencies was 15.8%, up from 15.6% during 2005. The ad and media unit’s 2006 margins were greater than WPP as a whole (14.5%).

The report also revealed that Sir Martin Sorrell’s base salary would rise to £1 million this year, an increase of 19% since Sorrell’s last raise in 1999.
