Half Of Western European Net Users To Shop Online By 2004
Almost half of western European internet users will shop online next year, up from 44% this year, according to new figures from Jupiter Research. By comparison, only 40% of US web users planned to use online retail during November and December this year, which is typically the busiest time of year for ecommerce (see Festive Online Sales To Surge, Says Jupiter).

Germany is expected to account for the largest portion of ecommerce revenues in 2008 at ₏25.8 billion, followed closely by the UK at ₏24.3 billion. Jupiter Research believes that travel products will continually dominate European consumers’ online shopping, accounting for ₏33.3 billion or 34% of total online commerce spending by 2008.
