Highbury Appoints Entertainment Boss As New COO

Highbury House Logo Highbury House has announced the appointment of Michael Peter Alan Frey as its new chief operating officer with immediate effect, promoting the magazine boss from his previous position as managing director of Highbury Entertainment.

Frey joined the company as managing director of Highbury Entertainment in September 2004, with 20 years of experience in magazine publishing, beginning with advertising sales at Haymarket Publishing before moving to Emap in 1987 to oversee the company’s then biggest ever launch, Money Week.

Frey subsequently became publishing director of Money Week and sat on the board of EMAP Business Information.

In 1996 Frey moved to Future where he launched the company’s Sports and Entertainment division and subsequently became publishing director of all non-gaming magazines and finally managing director of Future UK in 1999.

The new role will see Frey retain responsibility as a director of Highbury Entertainment, along with his existing role as a director as at Advantage Publishing (NSW) pty Limited.

Earlier today Highbury House revealed that revenues for the first half of 2005 have dipped by 28% year on year to £39.6 million, resulting in an operating loss of £2 million.
