Hills Steps Down As IPC Ad Director

IPC Logo Simon Hills, IPC Media’s corporate advertisement director, has stepped down after 17 years with the publishing firm in order to concentrate on “new adventures and challenges in a different environment.”

Amongst other achievements with IPC, Hills was responsible at one time or another for the running of IPC SouthBank, the company’s weekly magazines division and its Solutions creative division.

Commenting on the move, Hills Said: “the decision hasn’t been taken lightly or easily but it has been taken for the right reasons. There is an enormous wealth of talent within IPC and it’s time to let others step into the limelight and shape the future direction of the business. I can’t wait for the next big challenge.”

Sylvia Auton, chief executive of IPC, added: “After a long and successful career Simon has decided he wants to find fresh challenges outside IPC. He has been a fabulous asset to the business and we are very sorry to see him leave but we respect and support his decision.”

It is not known who will fill Hills’ role at IPC immediately following his departure, as a successor has yet to be appointed.

Earlier this month saw IPC Country & Leisure Media (CALM) appoint Kim Hollamby as its first head of electronic media, driving forward the first phase of its internet development strategy. The newly-created position will see Hollamby taking overall responsibility for the strategic development of CALM’s internet operations, overseeing a leading portfolio of 41 web brands, including countrylife.co.uk, decanter.com, horseandhound.co.uk and webuser.co.uk (see IPC Appoints Hollamby As Head Of Electronic Media).
