Homechoice Doubles Broadband Speed

Homechoice Doubles Broadband Speed

Homechoice Broadband and TV firm, Homechoice has announced plans to double its broadband speeds for its 1Mb and 2Mb customers, with the increase coming into force from March 1st, at no extra cost to customers.

The new internet speeds mean that customers can enjoy faster download speeds, with downloading a full music track taking as little as 3 seconds.

Commenting on the improved speeds, Roger Lynch, chairman and chief executive officer of Video Networks said: “The upgrades continue to demonstrate our commitment to providing the best service for our digital home network customers. These new speeds are available to new and existing customers, so everyone benefits.”

Earlier this year, a report in the Sunday Express claimed that HomeChoice was being sold off by operator Video Networks Limited with BSkyB rumoured to have shown interest in the firm (see HomeChoice Under The Hammer As Sky Takes An Interest).

HomeChoice currently offers broadband, telephone and IPTV services to around 34,000 customers in and around London, with video on-demand content one of the firm’s major selling points. The company already offers subscribers access to some Sky channels, carrying them under the satellite firm’s Sky By Wire branding (see Sky Boosts Audience Reach With HomeChoice Deal).
