Homechoice Signs Kids Programmes For Christmas

Homechoice Logo Digital TV provider Homechoice has announced a new one year content deal with Entertainment Rights to secure additional titles for it’s pre-school video on-demand kids channel, Scamp.

The deal will see Entertainment Rights supply Homechoice with new titles such as Budgie the Little Helicopter and The Cubeez for use on its on-demand platform.

The new deal also allows the provision of Christmas specials which have proved popular with Homechoice customers in the past. Titles such as Tangerine Bear and Little Monsters: Monsters Xmas will be made available exclusively over the festive period and promoted on the Homechoice service.

Welcoming the new content, Jonathan Sykes, managing director, content strategy, said: “We’re delighted to have this opportunity to add even more content to our kids service. This year has seen our kids offering go from strength to strength with the inclusion of Cartoon Network on-demand, Jetix and Discovery Kids. Adding such classics such as Bertha and Titch will make our offering even stronger.”

Karen Vermeulen, the UK and Ireland’s territory manager for Entertainment Rights, added: “We are also pleased to have secured this agreement and look forward to working with the Homechoice team as video on-demand becomes an increasingly important entertainment medium in the UK.”

Last month saw Homechoice announce the addition of the Sci Fi channel to its TV line-up, building on its service which was last extended just two months previously (see HomeChoice Boosts TV Line-Up With Sci Fi Channel).

The company has also pledged to roll out its service nationally next year, more than quadrupling its coverage to give a footprint approaching the size of the combined UK cable companies (see HomeChoice Plans National Roll Out To Rival Cable).
