IPC Appoints New Publisher For TV And Soap Mags

Ipc Media Logo IPC TX has appointed Gareth Beesley as publisher of TV Times, TV & Satellite Week and Soaplife.

Beesley is currently associate publisher of IPC Ignite monthlies Uncut and Loaded, before which he was associate publisher of IPC Inspire’s technology portfolio.

Before working in publishing he was circulation manager for IPC TX and was part of the launch team for compact TV weekly TV Easy.

ABC figures show that while TV Times and TV & Satellite Week have both seen declining circulations over the past two years, Soaplife has seen pretty healthy growth, rising to over 109,400 copies from 90,700 in the same period two years previously.

Angie O’Farrell, publishing director of TV Times, TV & Satellite Week and Soaplife, said: “I’m delighted to appoint Gareth as publisher. He has gained fantastic publishing experience over the last couple of years and he already has great knowledge of the TV weeklies market. I can’t wait to welcome him back to the TX team.”

Beesley added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am very excited to be joining the TX group. I am looking look forward to working with the teams, and taking these great brands from strength to strength.”

Beesley will take up his new role on January 3. He replaces Richard Coles who left the position to pursue other interests.
