ITV Drama Arrested By Dalziel And Pascoe

Dalziel And Pascoe BBC One’s detective drama Dalziel and Pascoe floored competition from ITV last night, which delivered disappointing ratings with the first episode of emotional drama, A Good Murder.

The ITV show, which concludes tonight, drew just 4.2 million adults on average, compared to 6.3 million for BBC One.

Elsewhere, the Corporation traded blows with ITV’s Monday night soap double bill, recording an average audience of 9.9 million for Eastenders, sandwiched between two episodes of ITV’s Coronation Street, both of which drew over 10 million.

There were few other ratings highs in last night’s schedule, with Channel 4 failing to top the 2 million mark at any point, only coming close with the Real Dad’s Army, which drew 1.7 million despite stiff competition from both BBC One and ITV.

Five’s continuing documentary series following Extraordinary People saw positive results however, with The Woman Who Lost 30 Stone drawing an average adult audience of 2.1 million. The broadcaster’s American drama Prison Break continued the success immediately afterwards, attracting a respectable 1.6 million on average.
