ITV Hires Customer Boss To Boost Client Focus

ITV Sales has announced the appointment of Jeremy Neaves as its new head of customer communications, further underlining the company’s drive to provide a more customer focused approach to its business.

Neaves has spent the past 12 years working in agencies, holding positions with some of the nation’s best known direct marketing and relationship marketing agencies, including Wunderman Cato Johnson, GGT Direct and Publicis Dialog. Amongst the major brands which Neaves has worked on in his career are Ford, Vauxhall Motors and Renault UK.

The new position will see Neaves report to Justin Sampson, ITV’s director of customer relationship marketing, developing and implementing marketing strategies for the broadcaster and promoting the TV medium to agencies and advertisers.

Neaves will also be responsible for supporting all parts of ITV Sales, helping the company to improve its reputation as a “relevant and creative communication solutions to advertisers”.

Commenting on the appointment, Sampson said: “Having established the Values of Fame strategy in 2004, this year is important to take the argument on and to deliver effectiveness insight that is both new and practical. Presenting this in an engaging and entertaining way is important and Jeremy’s the man to do this.”

Neaves added: “I am delighted to join ITV Sales at such an exciting time, with ITV2 the fastest growing digital channel and ITV3 showing great early promise. I look forward to continuing the relationship and dialogue with both the Advertisers and Media owners through the development of the recently launched Values of Fame strategy.”

The appointment builds on ITV’s previous efforts to improve its customer focus. Last year saw the broadcaster hire specialist consultancy, The Foundation, to develop mutual respect with all parts of the advertising community, and to become more imaginative in responding to client briefs. The company set out a clear aim to spend more time listening to its customers in an effort to boost its image and become more approachable (see ITV Sales Moves To Strengthen Client Focus).
