ITV Secures British Airways For Online Promotion

ITV Sales has secured British Airways to launch an online advertising campaign to promote its Club World sleeper service from the US to London on the broadcaster’s new Formula One website.

The integrated deal includes large creative placements on http://www.itv.com/f1 such as a message plus unit, superstitials and a fixed vertical Ad. There will also be permanent branded links within the main navigation bar on itv.com/f1, voting polls and cross promotions on-air.

Commenting on the deal, Amy O’Kane, director of marketing services for BA North America, said: “i-traffic has helped reach out to our target to generate awareness of the sleeper service product and position BA as the leader in sound, uninterrupted sleep on transatlantic flights.”

The deal was negotiated by Donna Rossiter at i-traffic and Jeremy Rosenberg at ITV Sales, who said: “British Airways will now have access to ITV Formula One’s ideal demographic profile and with over 10 million page impressions a month, they will certainly achieve the global coverage they require for their World Offers.”

Earlier this week ITV extended its commitment to Formula One motor racing with a new five-year contract that will keep the sport at the heart of the broadcaster’s schedules until the end of the decade (see ITV Keeps Wheels Moving With Formula One Deal).

ITV has held exclusive rights to Formula One races since 1997 and recently secured the Daily Telegraph as the exclusive £4.5 million broadcast sponsor of its coverage of the forthcoming Formula One season (see ITV In Poll Position With Formula One Sponsorship).
