ITV Soapstars Put Under Pressure By Traffic Cops

Soapstar Superstars ITV’s singing showdown, Soapstar Superstar, continued to trump Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother last night, but was put under increased pressure by an unlikely contender – BBC One’s Traffic Cops.

ITV’s soapstar sing-a-thon drew an average adult audience of 5.5 million last night, topping Channel 4’s 3.9 million, while Traffic Cops drew a respectable average of 5.2 million.

In the 16-34 year old audience, Channel 4 was the undeniable winner of the evening, securing an average of 1.8 million viewers, and a 33.38% share, while BBC One’s audience shrank dramatically to 864,000. ITV took second place amongst young audiences, with 1.1 million tuning in on average.

Five saw its evening’s programming crowned by Killer Instinct, drawing an average of 1.6 million adult viewers, followed by late film The Terminator, drawing 1.3 million.
