ITV is to sell its 9.9% shareholding in Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds at £5,000 a share.
If the offer goes through it will result in cash proceeds of £17.4 million.
Since the merger creating ITV plc (see ITV Merger Receives Final Green Light From Shareholders) in 2004, ITV has been carrying out a disposal programme of non-core assets, which is now approaching £500 million.
In August last year, ITV sold its stake in the Irish commercial broadcaster TV3 for 7pound;70 million as part of its disposal programme (see ITV Agrees Sale of Stake In TV3).
