James Mallinson Leaves Monkey

James Mallinson James Mallinson, publishing director of Dennis Publishing’s digital men’s magazine Monkey, has left the company.

It is understood that Mallinson’s departure from Dennis two weeks ago followed a company restructure.

Responsibility for the title has now gone to Richard Downey, publisher of Poker Player, Inside Poker and Viz.

Mallinson joined Monkey in March this year from Emap Advertising, where worked for eight years.

He joined Emap as a senior sales executive on FHM and Total Sport before becoming strategy director at Emap2.

At Dennis, Mallinson reported to executive director Kerin O’Conner and worked with the Monkey sales and editorial team to drive the online magazine’s commercial business forward.

Monkey, which launched in November 2006 (see Dennis Launches New Online Lads Mag), posted an ABCe figure of just over 245,400 for January to June 2007, up by around 17% from the last reporting period (see ABC Results Jan-Jun 2007:Big Declines In Men’s Sector).
