Kinetic Wins Economist Account Ahead Of US Push

Soccer Aid Logo The Economist has appointed poster specialist Kinetic to handle all of its global outdoor marketing, relocating the business from Aegis-owned Posterscope in an effort to raise awareness of the publication in worldwide markets.

Kinetic takes control of the account with immediate effect, covering the UK, France and the US. The business was won without a competitive pitch and sees The Economist vowing to drive circulation in North America, which currently accounts for over 50% of its circulation.

“Outdoor is an important media channel for us and we wanted to work with a specialist agency capable of delivering quality and value on a global basis,” explained Jacqui Kean, The Economist’s global brand marketing manager. “We believe that Kinetic has the experience, capability and scale to meet our requirements.”

Mike Segrue, global chief client officer at Kinetic, added: “There are few iconic out of home advertisers but The Economist is certainly one; we look forward to helping them achieve their objectives. We have won significant regional and global business in the last nine months yet again demonstrating that Kinetic is the only genuine global OOH media agency.”

The next round of Economist posters, created by AMV BBDO in London, will appear in the UK from 1 May, including a special build on Mega 4 sheets.
