Loaded And MTV Launch Quest For TV Presenter

Loaded Cover Men’s magazine Loaded is planning to enter into the television world, joining forces with music and entertainment channel, TMF, offering aspiring hopefuls a chance to present on its new music show The Loaded Hour.

The nation-wide search will see the winner being given an exclusive contract to host his or her own music show, as well becoming the face of Loaded new monthly music column.

Commenting on the initiative, Niall McKinney, publishing director of Loaded said: “Loaded continues to demonstrate its resurgence. Our move to TV is with the best possible partner, MTV Networks UK and Ireland, and we’re confident The Loaded Hour on TMF will leave our rivals trailing.”

The winner will also be invited to London for an interview and an exclusive photo shoot with top stylists and an A-list photographer, with the interview and pictures appearing in the March issue of Loaded, hitting the shelves the same week as The Loaded Hour launches.

The competition will be promoted at the Loaded Centrefolds Tour, which runs through November, whilst MTV will be supporting the search with special promotions running across its channels, with the winner announced in December.

Loaded joined forces with iconic men’s magazine Playboy earlier this year, in a six-figure cover sales promotion launching the brand’s latest online offering (see Loaded Set For Playboy Plug).

The October issue of Loaded was flagged as The Playboy UK Issue, with an array of editorial and promotional activity incorporated into the partnership, designed to promote the launch of playboy.co.uk.

In the latest ABC figures, Loaded, managed a year on year increase of 0.8% in the six months to June, with sales now totalling 237,083 (see ABC Results Jan-Jun 2005:Zoo Increases But Nuts Remains Ahead).
