Emap’s Magic 105.4 has signed an exclusive sponsorship deal with VUE cinemas to launch the station’s new on-air quiz, Trivia Triumph.
Trivia Triumph, which launches on 18 June, is the brand new weekday competition on Magic, running between 7am – 4pm.
Listeners will go head to head to answer three questions every hour. The winner will win £100 cash or get the chance to double their money in the next round of the competition.
During VUE’s sponsorship of the competition launch week, the quiz will have a movie twist to celebrate the launch of a new O2 VUE cinema opening at the O2 arena on 29 June. Special movie prizes will also be offered to listeners courtesy of VUE, including 25 three-month unlimited visit passes to VUE cinemas.
Competition content will also run on Magic’s online site, www.magic.co.uk, where listeners can win the chance to be the person to officially open the new O2 VUE cinema at the O2 arena by cutting the red ribbon.
Alison Finch, Magic 105.4’s commercial director, said: “This deal is a great example of how Magic can work to a client’s brief and create a bespoke piece of activity that forms a true partnership with our brand.”
The deal was created by James Wilson, Magic 105.4’s sponsorship and promotions manager, and Liz Parkin, Magic 105.4’s creative commercial director.
At the last RAJARs, Magic FM (London) had the highest weekly reach of the main London commercial stations, despite a year on year dip of more than 3%.
Quarter 1 2007 RAJAR figures showed that the station had a weekly reach of around 1.8 million listeners and a share of listening of 5.9% (see Magic FM Boasts Biggest Weekly Reach In London)
