Major Media Buyer Upbeat On 2004

Aegis Group, the media and market research firm has said that trading is in line with expectations and anticipates further progress will be made in 2004.

Europe’s largest advertising buyer claims that turnover, revenue and operating profit improved in 2003 and there is cause for New Year cheer given the upturn in the advertising and marketing economy.

Aegis predicts that global adspend will climb 4.7% this year, compared to 3.2% in 2003. The combined effect of the Olympics, the Presidential election and returning corporate confidence should help the US market to grow by 4.7%. Asia-Pacific is expected to see 6% growth and conditions in Europe are improving to the extent that advertising revenues are forecast to rise by 3.6% in 2004.
