MediaTel Group To Hold ‘Future of Media Research’ Seminar

Mediatel Group Logo The MediaTel Group ‘Future of Media Research’ seminar takes place on May 21, with tickets for this full day event selling fast.

The morning session, chaired by Torin Douglas, media correspondent for BBC Radio, will see a panel discussion looking at the question of whether research addresses the core issues in today’s media industry.

This will be followed by a short presentation looking at global developments and then a panel with global experience will discuss innovations and learnings from other markets that can be applied to media in the UK.

Panellists confirmed for the morning session include Lynne Robinson, research director at the IPA; Chris Mundy, managing director of Clearcast; Lucy Bristowe, head of market insight at BSkyB; Tim Foley, managing director of Pointlogic and Nick Hiddleston, worldwide research director at ZenithOptimedia.

In the afternoon there will be an ‘Innovation Immersion’ session with speakers outlining the latest research techniques in the market today. These will be short, sharp presentations giving delegates an overview of the latest cutting edge techniques.

This will be followed by an ‘Innovation Panel’ discussing the merits of each new technique and debating the best ways to allow innovation to flourish within the industry.

Finishing the day is a ‘Levering Research’ session featuring a short presentation outlining some of the many projects that aim to cut through to agencies and advertisers. The best ways to leverage projects will then be discussed by media practitioners who have commissioned research that have impacted upon a broad audience.

Panellists confirmed for the afternoon include Richard Helyar, head of channel insight at BBH; Andre McGarrigle, director of research & customer insight at Guardian News and Media; David Fletcher, director at MEC MediaLab; Sue Elms, executive VP, Global Media Practice at Millward Brown; Nigel Foote, managing director of ohal and Scott Thomson, head of evaluation at Naked.

The event will take place on Wednesday 21 May, at One Great George Street in Westminster, London. The Morning session runs from 9.15am to 1pm and the afternoon session runs from 2pm to 5pm. Tea and coffee will be served from 8.45am.
