Megaposter Puts Wheels In Motion For Giant Alfa Campaign

Outdoor poster contractor Megaposter UK has secured the contract to supply car manufacturer Alfa Romeo with giant posters in locations in London and Cardiff.

The deal will see Alfa’s latest campaign promoting the Alfa GT Coupe featured on Megaposter’s staggering 280 square metre sites on the Cochrane Theatre in Holborn, London, and at the 360 square meter West Canal Wharf site in Cardiff.

The posters will enjoy exposure to a monthly traffic count of 120,000 passing vehicles on the London site and 600,000 passengers from Cardiff’s central mainline station. The site in Cardiff is also close to several popular bars, restaurants and clubs, while the London positioning will be visible to thousands of theatre goers every month.

Commenting on the deal, Ian Bohn, sales and marketing director of Megaposter UK said: “An increasing number of car advertisers are using giant posters to launch their new models. The medium is perfect for displaying cars at their best and gaining the attention of prospective buyers through the major standout banners deliver.”

The campaign was created by Poster Publicity and Starcom Mediavest and focuses on the Alfa GT’s spacious interior. The strapline of the campaign readsL “Cat Swingers Wanted. Appearances can be deceptive”.

Megaposter’s latest large scale campaign follows a study published last month by the Outdoor Advertising Association showing the medium is on course to command an unprecedented 10% market share. The latest research shows industry revenue topping £225 million for the first time in the three months to December 2003 (see Outdoor Results Show Record Growth And Market Share).
