A new year also brings new learning and development opportunities and it’s now easier to fill those career improvement needs at the Advertising Association’s Advertising & Marketing Training Hub.

The Training Hub holds more than 600 courses and qualifications from AA members and industry organisations, covering a range of topics from AI to sustainability and creativity to media planning.

TikTok Academy, Nabs and the Committee of Advertising Practice have now joined the roster of course providers.

In addition, new features have been added to make it easier for users to find the appropriate training, including a quick way to identify free courses.

For all levels

Sharon Lloyd Barnes, commercial director and inclusion lead at the AA, spoke to The Media Leader at The Year Ahead event this month about the new courses.

She highlighted the “accessible” nature of the training hub, which is aimed at everyone in the industry — even those looking to start a career in marketing and advertising.

Lloyd-Barnes also discussed the two key challenges for AA members in 2025: AI and the upcoming TV ad ban on less healthy foods.

Moreover, with DEI under threat amid political changes and budget cuts, the industry must “double down” on its inclusive pledges, she stressed.

She encouraged everyone to take part in the upcoming All In Census on 12 March — an opportunity “for everyone to have their say”.

How to access training

The Advertising & Marketing Training Hub was launched in partnership with Adwanted UK, parent of The Media Leader, last year.

It was developed on Adwanted UK’s Connected platform and all current users will have access as part of their subscription.

The website is also available to the general public, who are required to create a login to view the directory.
