NBCU CEO Shell exits after ‘inappropriate relationship’
In brief

NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell has left the company after admitting to an inappropriate relationship with a colleague, parent company Comcast said.

It comes after an investigation by the company following a complaint. Comcast also owns Sky in the UK.

“I had an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company, which I deeply regret,” Shell said in a statement.

His departure was effective immediately. A successor to Shell has not been named and Shell’s senior team will now report directly to Mike Cavanagh, president of Comcast Corporation.

Shell was chairman of NBCUniversal Film and Entertainment before taking over as CEO of NBCUniversal in 2020, replacing Steve Burke.
