Opus Reshuffle Sees Earnshaw Become Marketing Head

GWR’s sales house Opus has restructured its senior management line-up with the promotion of Jane Earnshaw to the role of marketing manager.

Earnshaw will assume responsibility for all business-to-business communications for Opus and its sales brands, which include Classic FM and The Mix. She replaces Alex Marks, who left earlier this year to join digital media agency i-level.

Commenting on the appointment, Opus managing director, Duncan George, said: “Jane has proved herself a very capable marketer and I’m confident that she will help take the portfolio of Opus brands to a new level of awareness amongst advertisers.”

Earnshaw joined Opus in 2002 as brand communications executive after moving to the UK from Australia, where she was promotions and marketing manager at radio group Austereo’s Melbourne-based station.

The new position will see Earnshaw work alongside GWR group marketing director Jim Cruickshank and Opus managing director Duncan George.

Earlier this month Opus announced the creation of a dedicated brand partnerships team to forge stronger links between advertisers and programmers. The move will allow the company to incorporate the former local radio group sponsorship and promotions teams under the leadership of programmer, Lizzie Moran (see Opus Launches Dedicated Brand Partnerships Team).

The radio sales house also recently announced the first foray into the increasingly popular area of advertiser-funded programming with a series of specially created, hour-long shows to be broadcast on Classic FM with the backing of insurance company Prudential (see Classic FM Moves Into Advertiser-Funded Programming).
