Digital-only radio station Planet Rock is parting company with First Radio Sales, the company that has represented it for the past six months.
FRS said that the decision to end the sales agreement was mutual, adding that it wants to focus on servicing its local radio stations.
Planet Rock became the first digital-only station to be sold by an independent sales house when it was sold by GCap to Malcolm Bluemel in June 2008.
It is understood that the station could now choose the commercial teams at Bauer Media or Absolute Radio, or even represent itself.
Latest RAJAR figures – for Q4 2008 – show that Planet Rock reaches 680,000 listeners per week following a year on year rise of almost 21% (see BBC Radio 2 remains top national station).
