Pre-Tax Loss For Telegraph Media Group

Telegraph Media Group suffered a pre-tax loss of £8.8m in 2006, according to results filed with Companies House.

The group’s operating profits after one-off items were left at £10.8m, up from a loss of £12.1m in 2005.

These are the second accounts for a full year’s trading since the Telegraph was acquired by Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay from Hollinger International.

Gross profit for the group increased from £103.7m in 2005 to £108.1m in 2006, on revenues up from £440m to £450m.

According to the accounts, the Telegraph website saw its average monthly page views rise to 52.8m in 2006 from 41.6m in 2005, with average monthly unique users up to 5.9m from 4.6m.
