Publicis Revenues Increase For 2006

Publicis groupe recorded a 6.3% increase in revenues to €4.4 billion (£2.9 billion) for 2006.

Publicis also announced fourth quarter revenues of €1.25 million (£822 million), up 4.8% on the same period in 2005.

Maurice Levy, Publicis chairman and CEO, said: “We have a good outlook for 2007 with advertisers regaining confidence.

“We will be posting our definitive financial numbers for the year on February 28 but are confident in the delivery of a good operating margin, net income and cash.

“We will look to be selectively acquisitive [in 2007], nothing big in the UK, focusing on emerging markets.”

He added: “”Prospects for business in 2007 are favourable, with organic growth set to gain significant momentum from two drivers: interactive communications, which will contribute almost 15% of revenues following the acquisition of Digitas; and the continued strong growth in emerging markets, which already account for 21% of revenues.”

Just before Christmas, Publicis acquired the US digital and direct marketing agency group Digitas for $1.3 billion (£660 million) (see Publicis Buys US Digital Marketing Firm).
