PricewaterhouseCoopers has forecast huge net growth in India over the next five years according to a report by The Economic Times Online. Net users in India are expected to number 25 million by 2005, a huge increase from the 3 million online in 2000. India’s huge population is the reason why analysts see it as a potentially lucrative internet market.

Subsequently, online spending is also set to grow to such an extent that by 2005, PWC expect that Indians will be spending $1,545 million. At this time, China is expected to have become the largest market in the Asia-Pacific region with spending of around $3,744 million.
