Radio Festival Kicks Off In Edinburgh

Radio Academy Logo The 2005 Radio Academy Radio Festival will kick off in Edinburgh this afternoon, with high-profile delegates and speakers swarming to the event, which promises to lift the lid on the latest radio research, as well as offering insight from some of the industry’s top names.

Amongst those due to address the event are Ofcom chief executive, Stephen Carter; Dee Ford, managing director of Emap Performance; and Ralph Bernard, executive chairman of GCap Media.

Presentations from RAJAR and the CRCA also promise an update on the development of electronic audience measurement, with RAJAR managing director, Sally de la Bedoyere, and CRCA chief executive, Paul Brown taking to the stage together.

A celebrity interview with Chris Evans will bring the festival to a close, while entertainment from Radio 4’s The Now Show and an appreciation of the late John Peel from friends and colleagues also look set draw large crowds.

NewsLine will report live from the event, with updates on events as they happen throughout the next three days.
