Breakfast Radio The latest RAJAR figures for Q2 2009 paint a pretty positive picture for All Commercial radio, with its share of listening up 0.3 percentage points year on year to almost 43% of all listeners.

All Commercial’s weekly reach also increased, up 3.2% year on year to almost 32 million listeners.

Looking at just the London stations, Magic 105.4 has the highest weekly reach for the tenth consecutive quarter, although its average hours per listener figure is just behind 95.8 Capital Radio.

However, in the battle of the breakfast shows, Capital is king, with Johnny Vaughan’s show sticking around at the top spot with a weekly reach of more than 1.1 million listeners, after an impressive year on year increase of 22.4%.

BBC Radio 2 remained the national station with the highest reach in Q2 2009, up 3.3% year on year to just under 13.5 million listeners.

Following the Digital Britain report which gave a deadline of 2015 for the switch from analogue to DAB radio (see Digital Britain report published), DAB set ownership has increased 22% year on year, with 16.9m adults (15+) now claiming to live in a household which has a DAB receiver.

The RAJAR data also shows that 13.1% of all radio listening is now via DAB, up from 11% in the same period a year ago.
