Revamp For UK’s Biggest Consumer Mag
The most widely circulated magazine in the UK, Sky’s customer magazine, has been relaunched by News Magazines.
The newly renamed Skymag has been revamped in a bid to be more appealing to ABC1 women, introducing a raft of TV personalities as columnists in a bid to up the glossy ante on the title and make it more ‘upmarket’.
Regular columnists include Channel 4 stylist Gok Wan on style and beauty; BBC presenter Ben Fogle on eco-living and Observer agony aunt Mariella Frostrup on arts and culture.
The new-look title aims to attract new advertisers such as Renault and Jeep, which have signed up to advertise for the first time.
The relaunch will be backed by a TV campaign on Sky as well as a press campaign in trade titles.
Sky: The Magazine reported an ABC of 7,034,310 for January to June, up from 6,798,495 in the same period the year before.
The magazines division of News International, won the contract to publish the massive title in the UK from John Brown last year (see News International Company Scoops Sky Mag Contract).
