Revamp Planned For Mail On Sunday

Mail On Sunday The Mail On Sunday is to get a new look for 2008, getting a full colour makeover and splitting into two main sections.

According to a report on MediaGuardian.co.uk, the changes will see features moving into a new standalone section, with the Financial Mail On Sunday business supplement moving into the main paper.

It is expected that the main paper will include news, sport, business and personal finance, which according to the MediaGuardian report, will allow the paper to publish City news closer to final Saturday deadlines.

The second section will include the review and travel sections. MediaGuardian reports that one insider claims that the revamp will give the Mail On Sunday the capacity to print a maximum of two 128-page sections in full colour, although this has not yet been confirmed.

The latest ABC figures, for November 2007, show that the Mail On Sunday‘s circulation fell by just over 2.5% year on year, although it was still one of the top selling Sunday titles, with a total of over 2.3 million (see ABC National Newspaper Round-Up: November 2007).

The paper had a big sales boost in July when it gave away free copies of the latest Prince album Planet Earth (see ABC National Newspaper Round-Up: July 2007).
