Luxembourg-based media group RTL has won permission from the Conseil Superieur de l’Audiovisuel (CSA) to take a 20% stake in French radio group Sud Radio. The holding will be acquired from Sud Communications for €5.48 million (£3.46 million) and the transaction should be completed by the end of the month.
RTL Group was formed in April 2000 when Pearson Television merged with CLT-UFA. The result was the creation of Europe’s largest “free-to-air” TV company, with annual revenues of €4 billion.
