Ryder Cup To Be Shown Across Multiple Sky Platforms

Sky HD Logo The Ryder Cup will be shown on Sky Sports HD, skysports.com and Sky Mobile TV, as well as in standard definition on Sky Sports 1 and interactively with Sky Sports Active, making it the first single major event to be shown live across this range of platforms.

Sky Sports says it will offer the most comprehensive live coverage ever of the Ryder Cup in the UK and Ireland, with the Cup being the first golf event to be broadcast live in HD.

Sky digital viewers can launch Sky Sports Active to access a range of interactive options including constantly updated highlights from the day’s play and across the matches, off-course coverage from the press room and practice areas, and a video tour of each hole on the Palmer Course.

There will be two broadband video streams available to subscribers, accessed via skysports.com: live coverage from start to finish across all three days and a constantly updated highlights stream, whilst the main live coverage and highlights service will also be available as part of the Sky Mobile TV service.

Live coverage of the 2006 Ryder Cup on Sky Sports begins on Thursday 21 September with a preview to the event and the Opening Ceremony exclusively live on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports HD1 from 3pm.
