Schwarz Bangs The “Sexy Radio” Drum…To Good Effect

Nathalie Schwarz When you are introduced as “sexy and brilliant” you have a lot to live up to, but Nathalie Schwarz, Channel 4’s director of radio and chairman of the 4Digital Group, did a fine job of enthusing the audience at the RAB’s Radio 3.0 conference this morning, as she updated them on the offerings, implications and aims of the 4 Digital Group.

Radio is “the original interactive medium, the opportunity is not just to embrace the digital landscape, but to be one of the most powerful mediums within it,” she began.

“On-demand and interactive are key. Consumers want us to take more risks and to be more controversial.”

The 4 Digital Group, and most particularly the three Channel 4 stations would do just that she said, aided by the increased coverage of DAB via phones as well as sets now.
