Setanta Unveils Premier League Football Schedule

Setanta Sports, the pay-TV broadcaster, has unveiled the initial 19 fixtures of its 46 live Barclays Premier League games for the 2007/08 season.
The Setanta Sports service will cost £9.99 per month and is available to all satellite customers with or without a Sky subscription and on all Freeview boxes and digital TVs.
Last year, Setanta paid around £392 million to secure the rights to screen 46 Barclays Premier League games for the next three years (see Sky And Setanta Share Remaining Premiership Rights).
The lead presenter of Setanta’s football coverage will be Angus Scott, and he will line up alongside former England superstars turned pundits, Les Ferdinand and Steve McManaman.
Sky saw its own plans to launch a pay-TV offering on Freeview scuppered last month when Ofcom announced it would be conducting a public consultation on the broadcaster’s proposals to launch three pay-TV channels on the digital terrestrial TV (DTT) platform (see Ofcom Consultation Delays Sky’s Pay DTT Plans).
