SMG promotes Scott Curtis to European mobile role

Starcom MediaVest Group has promoted Scott Curtis to European mobile strategy and development director. Curtis had previously been the agency’s mobile development director in the UK.

SMG said Curtis will lead its mobile vision across the region in a move to position the agency as a “centre of excellence” for mobile in Europe.

Working with the European leadership team, headed by EMEA president Iain Jacob, Curtis will be responsible for identifying new mobile opportunities and building partnerships with media, technology and data vendors within the UK and Europe.

“Scott is an invaluable member of the team and has shown an entrepreneurial spirit from the onset,” said Jacob.

“He brings extensive experience and leadership from the UK and his vision, knowledge and understanding of mobile will contribute significantly as we scale and grow our capabilities across Europe ensuring we are at the forefront of delivering the very best mobile solutions for our clients.”

Curtis joined the agency in 2008 as a digital executive and was promoted to the role of global digital media manager before moving into the role of mobile development director last year.

Curtis said: “The challenge of mobile and the nuances of different channels across different data points has become my passion. My early career at Starcom MediaVest Group provided me with the foundation to develop my understanding of the digital media ecosystem and realise the vast potential mobile has to offer.

“I look forward to working across our European markets and collaborating with the wider global team throughout this period of exciting opportunity in mobile.”
