Status Quo Draws Solid Audiences For Corrie

The Quo In Corrie Coronation Street‘s double bill drew over 10 million viewers last night, as ageing rock band Status Quo put in a cameo appearance at the wedding of popular characters Les Battersby and Cilla Brown.

The programme’s first show of the evening drew an average of 10.6 million adults to secure an impressive share of 52.77%, while the second episode drew the same number of viewers, but scored a slightly lower share, at 47.17%.

Airing between the two Corrie episodes was BBC1’s Eastenders, with the return of the Mitchell brothers giving the programme a new lease of life, attracting an average of 10 million adult viewers between 8-8:30pm.

Elsewhere, ITV1’s high profile detective drama, Vincent, saw its audience decline steadily during the programme, which averaged 5.1 million overall to achieve a share of 28.95%.
